Blogger announced a couple of months a go that they added the “reply” to comment function that we all waited for for so long. The only catch is that for custom templates the activation is a little bit more tricky.

I will walk you through all the steps needed, but before doing anything you need to backup your template. What we will be doing is reseting the blog section, that includes the blog title, date, comment area and navigation links. Everything will be reset to default so you will lose all of the customizations and your post signature (if you have one). The good thing is that since you will have a backup of your template, you can add all of the customizations after the “reply” button is activated.

Feedburner is one of the most popular and fully featured free service for syndication of your blog feeds. Once you have set up your free Feedburner account, you can choose to redirect your blog feeds through Feedburner, instead of simply offering the default feeds which are automatically generated for your blog in either Blogger or WordPress.

There are many reasons why redirecting your Blogger feeds through Feedburner will be beneficial for both you and your readers, and don’t get me wrong feedburner does have a lot of little issues but for being a free service I totally give it thumbs up, I’ve personally tried other paid feed services and after a few weeks I always came back to Feedburner. Even tho now I set up all of my pre-made templates to automatically show the Blogger pages as the menu content, all of my custom Blogger templates have a default menu that I set up. And since I’ve been emailing instructions for this to most, i thought it would be nice to share for everyone so that way if you added a link list you can edit the content to set up pages as well.
